Membership & How to Join

Any woman who is 18 years of age or older who can prove her descent from from her ancestor who supported the cause of achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR. Full documentation must be provided to prove her lineage to her ancestor as well as her ancestor's service in the American Revolution. Physically serving in the war is not the only qualifying service. Qualifying service also includes patriotic and civil service which contributed to American independence. We can help you determine if your ancestor's contributions would qualify you for membership. Please visit the NSDAR website for more information on how to join and becoming a member.

Some of the top reasons that women decide to join us are the lifelong friendships that are made and maintained, and the service opportunities available through DAR's more than 50 active committees. Whether you're interested in serving veterans, active-duty military families, schools, children, literacy projects, Native Americans, conservation efforts, cemetery clean-ups activities or historic preservation; or using your talents in genealogy, technology, fundraising, and other areas; there is a place and a passion for you at DAR!
